My New Years Dream …

My New Years Dream … An End to Corruption. I understand that I am more likely to win the lottery than seeing the fruition of this dream … but that’s what makes dreams so appealing, you can dream the impossible.

As a child, my dream was self sustained flight. I could picture myself flying through the trees, free as a bird. I knew that I could achieve flight with the aid of modern technology, but I wanted to be able to fly on my own, like Superman. I had no dream of wealth, no dreams of toys, nothing material … just flight.

Today my dream is a little different, equally impossible, but a dream none the less. I would like to live in a world where people looked out for one another, where people cared more to help those around them than to hurt those far away. I would like to live in a world that if I were hungry I would be fed, if I were sick I would be healed, if I were bored I could go where I pleased … regardless of my financial situation or my social circle. I would like to live in a world of Love, not of Hate. I would like to live in a world where money was a memory, government was a bad dream and corporations willingly cleaned up the environment, putting forth the same energy and zeal as they did when polluting it. I would like to live in a world where people aren’t dividing themselves into left/right, good/evil, rich/poor, loyalist/infidel … but rather living as a whole, finding concessions and moving ever forward.

Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream, and it looks like his dream came true. I hope my dream comes true some day too, for humanities sake.

It is gravely unfortunate that today’s society prides itself on individuality, the fact that people are self sufficient, the idea that no one needs anyone else. When I hear that the poor are simply unmotivated, the hungry should have educated themselves better, the homeless are simply drunks … it pains me not for the poor, hungry and homeless, but that society has brought up such apathetic individuals with such skewed perspectives on life. It’s this individuality that leads people to corruption. The notion, “Whats in it for me?”, is a bastardization of self preservation. The thought that should cross a person’s mind when about to do something is, “Does this benefit society?” A collective conscience is the highest form of conscience that man can achieve.

We are one race, one people, one world. Our goals are one and the same. We shouldn’t try to achieve our goals individually, but as a whole, as a group, as a society. Once enough people realize this and enough people begin to take action, my dream may come true … our dream may come true. Its not quite as impossible as you would think. We are not alone in this dream.

But first, we must continue to suffer. Corruption is at an all time high, and it is growing at a remarkable rate. Each day the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Those living in Western Europe as well as the USA are blind to this, but those living in Newly Democratic countries feel this more than ever. Globalization isn’t about cheaper prices, or a just manner of distribution, its about spreading Democracy … the most corrupt form of government known to man. On the surface, Democracy seems to be the most sensible form of government, let the people choose. However, Democracy guarantees that those with money can choose who leads, not the people. This is vitally important when installing a foreign government. It is much easier to buy a government than to conquer one, especially when you own the money press. Democracy is needed, Globalization is needed, Corruption is needed.

I have spent a good part of 2008 researching Politics, Corruption, Globalization, Money Creation, Market Drivers and whatever else I could find. I highly recommend that everyone spend some time on this because simply repeating “Politics doesn’t effect me”, doesn’t make it true. Politics, forms of Government, Globalization, World Bank … they all have to do with You. They all affect You in more ways than You realize. It is in everyone’s power to help guide the system to a less corrupt, more stable form.

Please, share my dream with me. Give it some thought. Imagine a world with no war, no hate, no corruption, no religion, no negativity … Simply peace, love and understanding.

I have taken the time to display a series of links to help give people insight into the ’system’. I am not going to push for a specific field of thought, I would prefer that people made up their own minds. Spend some time to educate yourself and I am sure you will come to the same conclusions that I have.

  1. Chris Martenson - His series of videos will give you a good understanding of how money works. It is a great introduction and is completely void of any propaganda. It is important to have a good base knowledge of our financial institution.
  2. Zeitgeist Movie and Addendum - These two movies are highly propaganda films, and seem to push the Venus Project. The Venus Project is a great start, but I don’t know if I can trust a movement that preaches the abolishment of money all the while selling their products at top dollar. Look past the propaganda, and look at the facts laid out in the films.
  3. Loose Change – A great film to give you a glimpse as to the depth the world governments go to control the people. This film concentrates on 911, but it is important to understand that this is not the first, nor the last time something like this has happened.
  4. Noam Chomsky – Listen to what this man has to say. He is a very intelligent man, with a very skewed look on life. He is not a revolutionist, nor does he preach propaganda but after watching the videos above you should get a better understanding of what this man is thinking.

I have carefully selected items that are all in video form and are easy to follow. No preliminary knowledge is necessary for any of the videos. Chomsky may be a bit more difficult to follow, but for a modern day philosopher he is very eloquent and doesn’t require a great deal of background knowledge into a subject. I would recommend looking more deeply into financial structures and forms of government. Our financial system is at pinacle which will soon tip, and as times change, governments do too.

Obama to Take Power and Rule on Day 1

And so it begins …

Now that Obama has been chosen to ‘take power’ it is time to change my tone. As much as I feel that he is the better man with respect to McCain, I am convinced that he is equally the crook and he will do everything in his power to make sure that his friends, and of course himself, will be far better off after his term(s) than before.

With that said … Recently, Tom Brokaw had the privilege of interviewing the co-chair of Barack Obama’s transition team, Valerie Jarrett. It seems that many people are a bit upset about her choice of words. Take a look:

Obama will have to ‘Take Power’ and ‘Rule’ on Day 1.  Poor choice of words to say the least, but as far as I’m concerned, not that big a deal in and of itself.  It is, however, important to take into account the tone used by Obama and his team throughout the campaign.  There has always been a sense of ‘Holier than Though’.  These latest comments don’t do much to quell that feeling.

As with all presidents, coaches and speechwriters will ensure that these slipups happen less and less … we all remember Bushisms before the 2000 election.   The important thing to note is that this is the tone set before the election and immediately following, leaving a sense of arrogance about Obama that, in my opinion, is likely burnt deep into his soul.

Bush Never Ceases to Amaze

It looks like the wonderful president of the USA has broken yet another record. He has officially claimed the record for the Lowest Approval Rating in recorded history, an awe inspiring 16%. Most presidents would have to work really hard for that kind of result, but with Bush it seems to just come naturally. This is truly incredible, especially considering some of the wonderful presidents Americans have endured int he past. From the article:

The 83 percent saying things are going badly is “more than in 1992, when the first President Bush was ousted because of the economy, stupid. That’s more than in 1980, when President Carter got fired after the malaise crisis. That’s more than in 1975, after Watergate and the Nixon pardon,” said Bill Schneider, CNN senior political analyst.

It look like Obama has a bit of work to do. Well, lets look on the bright side, at this point it can’t possibly get any worse.

Georgian Woes

It looks like Georgia’s woes aren’t likely to end any time soon. With the Bush Administration’s loss of power, it is unlikely that Georgia will gain entry to NATO any time soon, while border problems seem to be getting worse. With Southern Ossetians taking control of the Perevi villiage, Georgia may need to change its tactics in that region.

Recent protests in Georgiaaren’t helping either. With Saakashvili’s credibility coming into question on his invasion of Southern Ossetia, it isn’t clear whether the US will be able to keep him in power much longer. Of course, with a turnout of merely 10,000 people he doesn’t have a great deal to worry about, but this number can grow putting pressure on him, and possibly placing a different party into power after the next election.

Of course, western media is blaming Russia for this conflict. I can’t understand where the logic is in this, but somehow they feel justified in doing so. Personally, it seems like this is standard public brainwashing, but what do I know? Georgia bombs South Ossetia, Russia enters the conflict protecting its people and the South Ossetians, and it is all Russia’s fault.  Of course!

The fact of the matter is that separatism is a long standing problem that roots deep in the history of civilization.  However, America’s recent decision the accept Kosovo’s independence from Serbia has set a dangerous precedent.  On the one hand, it give countries like Russia the ability to cite Kosovo every time there is a Separatist nation that favors her.  Likewise, it gives Separatist nations hope that they too may be approved for independent status.  Of course, the US runs by its own rules, and could care less about the rest of the world and its problems so long as it doesn’t effect America financially.

Lets hope that Russia, Georgia and South Ossetia find a peaceful end to this conflict.  If it were the leaders that were fighting it out for the land, I would be cheering them on.  However, its the people who suffer while the leaders sip their vodka and eat their caviar.

RIP: 20 Dead in Accident on Russian Nuclear Sub

In an unfortunate turn of events, another Nuclear Sub has taken the lives of more Russian Sailors. The Russian Nuclear Fleet has been plagued with fatal accidents for decades now. It seems high time to retire them, but knowing how Russians think it may be a good time to steal them, then sell them to a neighboring country. What is most unfortunate is that this accident was more than likely caused by a few high ranking naval officers that decided to steal a little money that should have been used to fix said submarine. Whats even more unfortunate, those naval officers will never be prosecuted because they are paying off other officials as we speak.

May the sailors Rest in Peace, and may their families quickly recover from the devastating loss.

RussiaToday has a small piece detailing the unfortunate accident:

I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they’d never expect it.

Dear God, Please Give Me a Bailout So I Can Believe!

Gary Corseri has written a great essay on Dissident Voice involving Corruption, Socialism and Hope. He does a great job at pointing out the problems of the world, a sarcastic way of posing solutions and subtle references to Americas new ray of Hope. The full text is copied below:

Here’s how it is, God/Lord/Goddess/Ineffable Holy Spirit: I spent all my money on drugs trying to reach a higher consciousness. This was during the Vietnam War when I couldn’t figure out why in God’s name—I mean, Your name, Your Holiness!—my beloved country was killing 3 million people in Vietnam and unleashing Pol Pot’s killing fields (4 million dead) in Cambodia-Kampuchea. So I smoked until my lungs hurt, made love until my pecker drooped, and listened to “Abbey Road.” I tried ‘shrooms and coke (not cola!), read “Howl” and “On the Road,” marched against the war and racism and I finally concluded: It wasn’t my country that was doing this crap. My country was lost down the memory hole with Carroll’s rabbit, lay moldering in the grave with Thomas Paine, Frederick Douglas, Henry Thoreau, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Tecumseh, Geronimo, Crazy Horse, MLK, et. al. When I had my epiphany, I gave my worldly goods to the poor and spent years sleeping in the enfolding, upward-reaching limbs of a giant sequoia. I made friends with wolves and eagles who told me their stories and invited me to share their food. Occasionally, they’d tell me news of the simian world: how Nixon had been pardoned for his war crimes; how Kissinger was still pissing on the world; how Carter walked to his inauguration but was defeated by a man on a horse; how the son of a Nazi sympathizer got to be president; and how a guy from Hope bombed Serbia—and the people said, “Where’s Serbia?” They told me that elections were stolen in 2000 and 2004, but people no longer cared because they’d lost two towering symbols of their wealth, power and prestige and they were hell-bent on revenge; how their revenge was killing them and how the thieves had stolen their treasury of the children’s future. So now I’m asking you, God, Jesus, Holy Mother of Buddha, Laotzi and the Horned Toad, the Flying Serpent, the Green Ant, and the Wild Horses—send me a bail-out cause I wanna do some good before I die, I wanna save some people who are hurtin’, I gotta start a community, I gotta start a whole new country, I gotta dismantle the White-wash House and the do-nuttin’-but-B.S. Congress and the Un-Supreme Court and Treasury and the FBI and the Pentagon so the people can just live—so they can walk thru the forest and feel the sunlight and the rain. Because Laotzi and Tacitus both said, the more laws, the less freedom, and Laotzi said you rule an empire the way you cook a small fish—carefully, attentively, gently. So, fire up the barbie, Lord, and let the coals glow red, put a couple quadrillion in my bank account, cause I still got dreams and this ain’t gonna come cheap.

Minerva, Juno, Mother Mary, you sent us your messenger, Barack Obama, who delivered his sermon, called, “Change We Can Believe In.” And the wind soughed, filling my world with pine freshness, and the clouds scudded and I thought: It’s change I can’t believe in that I want! I can’t believe that America will declare peace on the world, cut its military budget by 9/10 and work towards the elimination of all weapons of mass destruction, including nuclear, by 2010. I can’t believe our hospitals will open their doors to the needy, treat our citizens to the kind of health care enjoyed by the Japanese, Venezuelans, Germans, Scandinavians and other people in rich and poor lands around the world. I cannot belie ve that we shall have socialism in America—not real socialism with a little “s,” based on fairness and egalitarianism (though I do believe we shall continue to have “socialism for the rich” which is really just another phrase for fascism!). I cannot believe that our media will relinquish control of the airwaves they’ve stolen; that they’ll disseminate views countervailing and discordant to the cozy relationship between our corporations and government. I cannot believe there will be campaign finance reform thanks to said cozy relationship and the fact that the System has prevailed again. I cannot believe that we shall have a “re-birth of freedom” in our arts; that we shall have more public financing of “people’s art”—art that captures the Zeitgeist, unites people, and informs our minds, hearts and spirits. I cannot believe that funding for our schools will be based on a national tax—not local taxes—so that the children of rich and poor communities will have equal opportunities to learn, grow and fledge their wings. I cannot believe that we shall abolish student loans and that we shall open our universities to all who seek proficiency and greater understanding. I cannot believe that we shall have free television to bring us language-learning programs, and local, national and international theater. I cannot believe that we shall have high-speed, clean-running trains as in France or Japan. I cannot believe our police officers will stop arresting our youths—especially minority youths—because they smoke a joint for recreation or are addicted to crack or hero in e, seeking release from pain or poverty, drudgery or desperation. I cannot believe we shall double or triple the minimum wage, and cap wages or maximize taxation at the top in order to restore ideas like noblesse oblige and a shared humanity. I cannot believe we shall find you again, Pan—wild god of the forest—and make peace with you, honor your sanctuaries, restore your ravaged heritage. I cannot believe we shall clean Neptune’s oceans and Hermes’ skies. I cannot believe we shall change our diets, grow our own food, stop the industrial slaughter and torture of animals. I cannot believe we shall stop torturing other human beings, or that we can control our own growth, our population explosion. I cannot believe we’ll trade in our insane culture of greed, celebrity and power-lust for one of compassion, community and common sense. I cannot believe we can restore balance to our fractured world.

Oh, God, send me a check for a quadrillion, make it out to the poor, forgotten and desperate–those still longing to believe, though they cannot now believe.

Sarah Palin, an Idiot? … No Way!

Who would have thought that Sarah Palin was an Idiot? That can’t be right. The Republican Party obviously screens their potential Vice Presidents, don’t they? I am sure that candidates must pass some sort of basic elementary school test. Questions like naming the Oceans, Continents, maybe even some mathematics.

Apparantly not. As it turns out, Sarah Palin was under the impression that Africa was a Country. Anyone surprised?

The USA and Russia

With a new party coming to the white house, Russia decided to take this opportunity to throw a little salt on the wounds of the Bush Administration.  President Medvedev attacked Bush’s administration, faulting them for the Global Financial Crisis, the conflict in South Ossetia, but more importantly touching on Bush’s Missile Defence Project.  The missile defence shield is a sore spot that Russia will not simply let go.  They now plan to build missile bases, as well as take other measures to ensure that the Missile Shield does not go up, and, in case it does go up, is not entirely effective.  Medvedev took the time to welcome Obama, but with a hope that Obama’s administration would be more Russia friendly.  RussiaToday has a good video clip, take a look.

Rapture at Hand

When religion uses fear mongering to sway people to do something, those in charge should be prosecuted. How is scaring people into doing something via religion any different from waving a gun in their face? Of course, waving a gun in the face of nearly anyone will sway them to do the most amazing things, while fear mongering through religion only works on the brainwashed.

The current fear mongering is quite odd, to say the least. Currently, there are those Christians who believe that if Obama comes to office the rapture will soon follow. Of course, talk of the rapture is very common in tough times, and it doesn’t get much worse than now, but what does Obama have to do with anything? Christianity is a very aggressive religion, but American Christians are verging on Evil at times. Their open support of the Iraq war, war with Iran and electing McCain, a warmonger, for president just crosses all lines. Maybe with the next generation Christianity will either become more peaceful, or better yet simply less in number.
